Company History
J&V Catering Inc, a Minority-Owned Business, was founded on the principles of integrity, consistency, continual improvement and the desire to exceed customer expectations, and we have grown to become a cornerstone in catering high-quality events of all sizes for San Francisco and the Bay Area.
We have over five-hundred corporate clients in all fields (private catering is also available), providing a myriad of culinary options for all tastes and occasions.
Nestled in the heart of the historic San Francisco Wholesale Produce Market, the company chefs take great pride in hand-picking the freshest ingredients, including local and organic as available.
We will bring a new level of taste and presentation to make every event truly memorable.
Catering is our true passion, and it will be impossible not to appreciate our devotion and personal approach in every event served. Green Practices
Our commitment to excellence in service equally reflects on our commitment to the environment; sustainability is a big part of our day-to-day operations and, from preparation to execution, it is a palpable component of J&V.
Being a Certified San Francisco Green Buisness

Part of our efforts include full-recycling programs (including being a proud participant of San Francisco’s “Greacycle” program) for both our commercial kitchen and offices, retrofitted facilities with state of the art eco-dishwashing machines and energy-efficient appliances, implementation of a comprehensive integrated pest-management (IPM) control (free from pesticides and chemicals), usage of green cleaners, and the provision of products from socially responsible vendors who are local, embrace sustainable or organic practices, or provide green certified products (just to mention a few: Starbucks coffee for their social and environmental responsibility, evolution fresh squeezed and organic juices and produce, Baker source organic breads from Lodi, etc).
Other examples are:
Office recycling program: leased copiers, usage of recycled paper, double-sided printing, e-invoicing and marketing, energy-saving mode on computers, and green-and-blue recycling in-situ.
Kitchen recycling program: a full green and blue recycling program that helps us maintain our recycling rate at no less than 75%, along with being participants of the San Francisco’s “Greacycle” program, aimed to recycle cooking oils for biofuel. Portable recycling stations are carried to every hosted event, and we minimize our waste rates in-situ by sorting our recyclables, or bringing composting back to our facilities in the event our clients do not have that option.
IPM program: our commitment to reduce our impact on the environment includes the implementation of an eco-friendly Integrated Pest Management program, aimed to eliminate the use of harsh chemicals and pesticides from our operations.
Energy-efficiency: we have retrofitted our facilities to become energy-efficient. From lights, to fixtures, to state of the art eco-friendly dishwashers, we take great care in minimizing our consumption of energy and use of chemicals.
Environmentally-conscious products: we partner with environmentally conscious vendors who can provide our clients with great quality products. Organic, sustainable, local, are adjectives strongly present in our products, such as compostable bottled water, compostable utensils, sustainable seafood and meats, organic breads and juices, local desserts, etc.
